Childbirth In Your Life and Around the World

Hello Group,
My Personal experience with birth was when I became a father for the first time and the second time. My spouse gave birth in a hospital setting for both experiences.  There was a lot of preparation by the medical team.  With my son, there was not the option of a natural birth. We had to settle with a cesarean section.  This is an operation that involved cutting the stomach and delivering my son by this method.  I was very nervous and as I watched, I could not believe what I was witnessing.  The doctors pulled him up out of the stomach area by the top of his head.  This was an experience that I will never forget. My daughter was also delivered by cesarean section but hers was much smoother.  Her childbirth took much longer because of complications as doctors were extra careful not to allow her to stay in the wound much longer than necessary.  My wife was in labor extra-long as my daughter hesitated to begin the process.
My thoughts on child birth are that it is a magnificent thing that god created and it requires a lot of teamwork, emotional stability, planning, the ability to function as a medical team, cooperation, patience, bravery, and trust from both the parents and the medical team.  If all does not go well with the birth experience, the child may never get a chance to live or live a normal life. The five characteristics of child development will be affected and will be disastrous.
I chose this example because it is the only example that I have had with birth up close.  I had only heard about birth from other people but never witnessed it personally.
The region of the world that I chose is Israel.  Israel has a population of a about 7.908 million in (2012). With a life expectancy of 81.76 years in (2011) and a population growth rate of 1.8% annual change in 2012.  Israel women give birth in many different ways as compared to my experience.  Israeli women sometimes give birth in some ways that are exactly like the United States.  Their similarities are that they receive hospital assistance, give birth on back, and natural waterbirthing.  Some of the differences are that they give birth while squatting, breathing the infant down, homebirth supported squat, by hypnobirthing, singing, and unassisted birth.  As compared to my experience we had a much easier time as compared to the Israeli’s. Our methods of childbirth are much more relaxed and more technologically advanced than Israel’s.
